Ballantyne's Strong Digital Systems Division Provides NEC Projectors for Dolby Deployment with Malco and Megaplex
NEC STARUS NC2500S Projectors Selected to Deliver Exhibitors a
Complete Digital Cinema Solution
Ballantyne of Omaha, Inc. (Amex: BTN), a provider of motion picture projection, specialty lighting and digital cinema equipment and services, announced today that Dolby Laboratories, a leading developer of entertainment products and technologies, selected twenty-five NEC STARUS™ NC2500S Digital Cinema projector systems from Ballantyne's Strong Digital Systems division.
Dolby selected the NEC STARUS NC2500S Digital Cinema projectors to deploy in several state-of-the-art movie theatres owned by Malco Theatres and Megaplex Theatres. During the fourth quarter of 2006, four systems will be deployed in Malco Theatres and three in Megaplex Theatres. The additional systems will be delivered to Malco and Megaplex in the first half of 2007.

In addition, Wilmers said Ballantyne is working with Dolby on future digital cinema developments including Dolby's recently announced 3D system.
