Microspace Retains Michael O. Murphy to Assist Expansion of Digital Cinema into Mexico
Hollywood veteran brings 30 years of achievements in domestic and international entertainment markets to company’s expansion strategy.
Microspace Communications Corporation (Microspace), the leading distributor of digital cinema via satellite, has retained industry veteran, Michael (Micky) Murphy. Murphy has been tapped to assist with the company’s strategy to expand its digital cinema services into Mexico.
Microspace’s domestic success in digital cinema has created a business case to extend its distribution capabilities into Mexico. Murphy’s international expertise will guide Microspace’s strategy in establishing a larger international foothold in the entertainment market through his strategic relationships and experience acquired over more than thirty years in the industry.
Previously, Murphy held senior executive positions with Hoyts General Cinema South America, United International Pictures in Latin America and the Caribbean, MGM and United Artists Corporation.
“We are delighted to leverage Micky’s experience in the international entertainment markets as we lay out our roadmap for digital cinema expansion,” said Joe Amor, vice president and general manager for Microspace. “His understanding of the business dynamics within the Mexico market will strengthen our position.”
