GDC Showcases Upgraded SA-2100A Server with New Features at
Cineasia 2009
GDC Technology ("GDC"), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, is pleased to announce that it will showcase its upgraded SA-2100A server at CineAsia 2009, to be held between 8–10 Dec, Hong Kong (booth number 311; details see www.cineasia.com). Built upon its highly successful SA-2100 platform, the SA-2100A server has a slew of powerful new features incorporated to help customers operate their businesses with even greater ease and efficiency.
All eligible GDC customers will get these new features in the next software upgrade, and servers shipped from January 2010 will get them as standard features.
The SA-2100A retains all the popular features found in the SA-2100 such as instant playback from any CRU drive or TMS during emergency, incorporation of RealD 3D EQ technology, and Closed Captioning support. In addition, exciting new features have been incorporated such as:
• Multi-lingual user interface (Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese)
• Support of Performance Log (in a format compliant to SMPTE standard) – to ensure performance-related information captured during playback of shows is properly logged in a standard format for later retrieval. The log records are digitally signed to prevent tampering.
• Automation Compatibility – allows bi-directional communication with theatre devices such as cinema control systems, cinema sound processors and cinema projectors, hence making automation of these devices possible and achieving substantial reduction in setup time and possible human errors for every show.
"As one of the pioneering companies in the industry, GDC has always been an active contributor to digital cinema technology," said Dr. Man-Nang CHONG, founder and CEO of GDC Technology. "Having been in the industry for a decade and installed nearly 2500 GDC servers worldwide, GDC has come to understand exhibitors’ needs inside-out. Customers can expect GDC to leverage on its in-depth knowledge of the industry to continue bringing in the latest digital cinema technology that suits their businesses."
