GDC Technology Limited (“GDC”), a world leading digital cinema solution provider, proudly announces today that its popular SX-2000 Digital Cinema Server with Integrated Media Block (IMB) is further enhanced with the addition of several new features. GDC cordially invites you for a demonstration of its latest product at CinemaCon, Booth # 1208A, on March 28 – 31, 2011, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Launched in March 2010, the GDC SX-2000 with IMB became an instant runaway success with over 1,000 units shipped worldwide to date. Adding to more than 7,000 units of earlier models of GDC servers already shipped, there are currently over 8,000 GDC digital cinema servers in operation worldwide. GDC's IMB is the only IMB that has been awarded FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certification, one of the highest level security requirements specified by Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI).
In the last 12 years of being a server manufacturer, GDC has continuously upgraded its range of products to ensure exhibitors receive the most cutting-edge technology which adds significant value to their business. The SX-2000 with IMB is GDC’s latest product addition, a powerful and feature-rich server which is designed for DCI compliance and secure on content delivery as it can seamlessly integrate with all Series 2 DLP Cinema® Projectors. While retaining all the attractive features from legacy servers, such as instant playback of content from CRU drive, redundant hot swappable data drives and closed captioning support, the GDC SX-2000 with IMB has a number of powerful new features added to further enhance its technical capabilities, including:
- 12-bit 4:4:4 output images (left and right) providing the highest quality 3D playback and allowing for a much fuller color spectrum 500 times richer than that of a legacy server
- USB 3.0 interface support (optional)
- 3D Live support: RealD LIVE, SENSIO® Hi-Fi 3D
- Up to 4TB storage (optional)
- MPEG4 playback
Overall, the GDC SX-2000 with IMB presents itself as a sophisticated and highly reliable digital cinema server, offering a future-proof 4K upgradable solution which requires no retraining of the user interface. “Perfecting our Integrated Media Block was not an easy task,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology. “Being the first in the industry to receive the FIPS 140-2 Level 3 security certificate demonstrates GDC’s deep understanding in the design of digital cinema servers, and our commitment to the industry. We invite you to join us at CinemaCon for a live demonstration of our latest new features which will differentiate your cinemas from the rest.”
