Ymagis Group (ISIN:
FR0011471291, MNEMONIC: MAGIS), the European specialist in digital technologies for
the motion picture industry, is pleased to announce the re-launch of its cinema
consultancy services as CinemaNext.
Formerly known as dcinex Consulting, this affiliate
company of Ymagis Group operates from London, as an independent cinema consultancy
providing a wide range of services from investment, conception, design and build and
commercial strategies to its clients: private equity firms, investment/property
developers, real-estate companies/owners and cinema exhibitors.
The announcement was made in Las Vegas (NV) on the second day of CinemaCon, the
annual convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners.
CinemaNext is also pleased to announce the addition of two new consultants to its team:
Craig Shurn and Rob Arthur, who will be based in the US and UK respectively. These
seasoned professionals have held various executive positions in the cinema exhibition
sector: prior to moving to CinemaNext, Craig Shurn was Film Booking Director of the
Odeon UCI cinema chain, while Rob Arthur was Managing Director of Apollo Cinemas.
CinemaNext was created in 2006 by Keith Pullinger and John Sullivan and in 2008 Mike
Thomson and Damian Drabble joined as heads of commercial and operations respectively.
Keith Pullinger now retains a non-executive role whilst pursuing other interests.
“With the digital revolution, the cinema business has transformed completely in less
than a decade,” said Jean Mizrahi, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ymagis
Group. “We are entering a whole new era, in which operators are increasingly
required to step up - not purely for competitive reasons but also to meet the
expectations of increasingly discerning and maturing audiences.”
“The cinema business is undergoing major changes as we knew it and CinemaNext
is leading advisory services on the new emerging models, cinema experience,
premium large format and best practices,” said John Sullivan, Managing Director of
CinemaNext. “With a strengthened team and thanks to a wider network of
businesses only Ymagis Group can offer, it is clearly our intention to target
expansion in the US and Canada, Africa and Middle East.”
The firm offers its expertise to its clients covering virtually all aspects of cinema
exhibition, from property/design and research, business plan development, to operations,
marketing, ticketing, programming, loyalty programs, IT systems and overall team
training. The company has its offices at The Observatory, 10 Argyll Street, London W1F
