D&E Entertainment Rolls Out Digital Cinema Premiere of Pearl Jam’s Film “Immagine in Corncie”
On September 25 at 8:00 pm, groundbreaking rock band Pearl Jam will be ‘Framed’ - digitally – and on the big screen in multiple theatres and cities across the U.S., thanks to D&E Entertainment (www.DandEntertainment.com), the digital cinema/music marketing imprint selected by the legendary band and Monkeywrench Records (distributed by Rhino Records) to market and distribute the worldwide digital cinema theatrical premiere of Pearl Jam’s new concert film, ‘Immagine In Cornice’ (Picture in a Frame). The innovative concert movie chronicles the band’s five Italian concerts – including exclusive behind-the-scenes footage – culled from their much heralded 2006 European Tour.
The film will play exclusively in digital cinema – offering movie-goers and music fans an invigorating theatrical concert experience in the ultimate viewing and listening environment - with D&E rolling out the digital red carpet on Tuesday, September 25 at 8:00 pm in select theatres across the U.S. including Seattle, Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Boston, San Diego, Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Memphis, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Tulare, Riverbank, Austin, and Las Vegas. Pearl Jam’s digital-friendly approach in inviting fans to share their expansive legacy has been widely documented, including releasing the first ever totally digitally distributed single to reach the top of the music charts with their web-friendly launch of their 2006 hit “Worldwide Suicide.” The band is also known for granting immediate access to sound-board quality live recordings to fans who have attended their concerts, via their website. Now committed to providing the ultimate fan-friendly concert film, the band’s interest in Digital Cinema provides the pinnacle audio and visual experience for audiences who are clamouring for cutting-edge digital quality in a theatre setting.
Featured cities and venues highlighted in the film include: Pala Malaguti in Bologna, the Arena di Verona, the Forum in Milan, Palaisozaki in Torino and Duomo Square in Pistoia, Italy. Immagine in Cornice was directed by renowned photographer, filmmaker and long-time friend of the band Danny Clinch (Bruce Springsteen Devils and Dust, Live from Bonnaroo 2004) and was shot in High Definition, Super-8 and a number of other formats. The film captures prime stage versions of songs spanning Pearl Jam's career — ranging from "Even Flow" to "Corduroy, including "World Wide Suicide" — providing behind-the-scenes perspective from each show. Immagine in Cornice is Pearl Jam's first concert film and DVD release since 2003's Live at the Garden.
Technicolor Digital Cinema is handling all mastering, digitization and distribution of the film.
