D&E Entertainment Distribute UK High Definition Digital Cinema Premiere of Bob Marley’s Landmark Concert Film “Live at the Rainbow”
D&E Entertainment Utilizes Digital Cinema Technology And Comprehensive Marketing Campaign To Create A Unique Viewing Experience and Marketing Strategy For Musical Content
On June 19th at 8pm, in London, England, D&E Entertainment (www.DandEentertainment.com) has been selected by Universal Music Group International/Island Records and Bob Marley’s Estate to produce the High Definition digital cinema theatrical premiere of Bob Marley’s classic concert film, ‘Bob Marley Live At The Rainbow’. The Event will also feature an intimate Q&A with Bob’s son Stephen Marley. This premiere will take place on June 19 at the Odeon Covent Garden theatre and then on June 26 will be presented, along with footage of the Q&A with Stephen Marley in 7 other Odeon theatres around the UK.
This Event provides the perfect platform as Island Records celebrates the 30th anniversary of Bob Marley’s ‘Exodus’ masterpiece this summer by releasing the album on the groundbreaking new format of USB Memory Stick as well as other traditional CD formats. In addition, a specially packaged 30th Anniversary DVD of ‘Exodus Live at the Rainbow’ will be in stores on Monday 18th June.
To further enhance the event, Gibson Guitars (http://www.gibson.com/) has donated limited edition Bob Marley Guitars that are no longer in production. A lucky fan in each theatre will have a chance to win one of these rare guitars.
Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy (http://www.nordoff-robbins.org.uk/) has been selected as the event’s official charity organization with a portion of the revenue to be donated to its programs that provide music therapy to needy children and adults by channelling their energies into something purposeful and creative.
Evan Saxon, Co-President of D&E Entertainment said, “To be part of history in presenting the digital cinema premiere of Bob Marley’s seminal concert film ‘Live At The Rainbow’ is amazing. Factor in that this is the very first time it has ever been presented high-definition via digital cinema, it not only gives Bob’s film the absolute best presentation by using the latest technology but also transfers the fans through time giving them the experience of being there live at the venue and in the front row.”
“When thinking of classic concerts this ranks among the very best. Kicking off the theatrical release in London where the show was originally shot and having Stephen Marley at the premiere event along with the support of the Marley Estate gives this release the respect it deserves.” said Doug Kluthe, Co-President of D&E Entertainment.
‘Live At The Raindbow’ will be distributed by D&E in the US later this summer. Ascent Media in the UK handled all digital mastering and distribution.
