B&B Theatres, the 26th
largest chain in North America with 205 screens across Missouri, Kansas,
Oklahoma and Florida, is excited to announce that they have converted 50% of
their screens to digital using DLP technology.
Since opening their first new, all digital 8 screen theatre in Hannibal,
Missouri in March of 2009, B&B has steadily replaced their 35mm projection
equipment with certified series 2 DLP projectors, their most recent conversion
being Lebanon, MO. In October of 2010,
B&B opened the brand new B&B Theatres Wildwood 10 with Marquee Suites,
the first booth-less theatre in Missouri (

projectors,” commented Bob Bagby, President of B&B Theatres. “The picture quality is amazing and our
breakdowns have decreased substantially in all of our digital theatres.”
All of B&B’s digital
conversions were completed by Sonic Equipment Company of Iola, Kansas. “Sonic Equipment Company has done a terrific
job installing all of our digital projection equipment. The technicians at Sonic are first rate and I
have been extremely pleased with the quality of their work and follow up,”
remarked Bagby on his choice of digital equipment and installation
provider. “Sonic Equipment has worked
with B&B extensively in the past and we are pleased that B&B has chosen
to continue our relationship into the digital era,” said Mike Covey, Production
Director at Sonic Equipment Company.
B&B Theatres expects to convert
the remaining 50% of their screens within the next 12-18 months.
